Every year from mid November through the New Year, Custom House Plaza, behind Portola Hotel and Spa, transforms into a magical winter wonderland with Ice Skating by the Bay. Our beautiful outdoor rink overlooking Monterey Bay brings the magic of the holidays to life.
This season we ‘re open from November 21, 2025 until January 4, 2026.

REGULAR HOURS:
Monday thru Saturday | 11am to 10pm (with the exception of the below dates)
Sundays and Holidays | 12pm to 8pm (Including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Year’s Day)
ADJUSTED HOURS:
December 1-4 & 8-11 (Monday – Thursday): 1:00pm to 10:00pm
Admission:
Adults: $15
Children 12 and under: $13 (must be accompanied by adult)
Season Pass: $225 for the entire season.
Skate Rental: $5

We are excited to announce Special Events, Holiday and Birthday Parties will now have exclusive scheduling opportunities!
Military Mondays – Veterans and Military ID holders get half off of admission on Mondays (does not include skate rental). 1 admission per ID holder.
We can’t wait to host your event!
Private Events are booked, on select weekdays, Mondays through Thursdays.
10:30am to 12:30pm OR 12:30pm to 2:30pm windows are available on the following dates:
Mon., Dec. 1st – Thurs., Dec. 4th, 1pm to 10pm
Mon., Dec. 8th – Thurs., Dec. 11th, 1pm to 10pm
Directions
Ice Skating by the Bay is located in the Custom House Plaza near Historic Old Fishermans Wharf.
Parking is available is available at the Waterfront Parking Lot ($1.75 per hour or $12 daily). Enter at the intersection of Del Monte Avenue and Washington Street, Monterey. Additional parking is available at the East and West Parking Garages located at Del Monte Avenue and Tyler Street, Monterey (one hour of free parking, with additional time at $1.00 per 30 minutes or fraction thereof).
Exit on Del Monte Avenue. Stay in the left lane. Continue straight on Del Monte (do not exit through tunnel). Proceed until Tyler Street, turn left and enter either garage (one on left, the other on right).
*Ice Skating by the Bay reserves the right to interrupt skating sessions for ice resurfacing and/or skating events. Skating times are subject to change without notice.
